As the lead pastor of The Spirit Church, Pastor Aeneas inspires through his real-time teaching of the scriptures in a way that is understandable and practical so others can live it out. He has lived an incredible God story, including being a walk-on defensive back his junior year at Southern University, going on to be drafted in the third round of the 1991 draft by the Arizona Cardinals, and then becoming a St. Louis Ram in 2001.
Pastor Aeneas has had a remarkable 14-year NFL career – that included a Super Bowl appearance, eight Pro Bowls, four All-Pro selections, and an induction into the 2014 Class of the NFL Hall of Fame. During his many years of playing football, he invested in the lives of his teammates and their families by hosting weekly Bible studies in his home with his wife Tracy. His personal commitment to Christ during his junior year in college has given him a passion to share the wisdom and understanding of the Word of God in every setting as he inspires others to fulfill their potential.
Upon retiring from the NFL, Pastor Aeneas accepted the call of God on his life, and in 2007, he and his wife started The Spirit Church in the basement of their home along with their four children. His passion for faith and leadership principles has led him to become a sought-after motivational speaker sharing his inspirational insights with NFL teams and owners, corporations, political, and government assemblies.
Pastor Aeneas holds a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting and is the author of the book, It Takes Respect. He and his wife Tracy of over 30 years have four adult children.
Pastor Tracy has been a cheerleader for her husband Pastor Aeneas throughout his 14-year NFL football career and now she partners with him in pastoring The Spirit Church. They have been married for over 30 years and have four adult children. She serves as the Executive Director of Ministries, and leads our youth ministry, RiSE.
Having a passion for women, in 2012 Pastor Tracy established the Wonder Women’s Experience, the women’s ministry of The Spirit Church, which serves to encourage women in their spiritual growth, while creating an uplifting and thriving community.
Young women and girls are dear to her heart, as she has shared her sexual abstinence program,” The Garden Experience” in schools and other organizations. She is the author of The Garden Experience, An Abstinence Handbook for Girls.
Pastor Tracy holds a Bachelor of Science degree in agricultural economics and an MBA. Along with the many roles she plays, Pastor Tracy lives for Friday night dates with her hubby (Pastor A), family gatherings, traveling, and people-watching.
Simeon Williams is the assistant pastor of The Spirit Church and serves as the secretary of the Spirit Church Board of Directors. Pastor Simeon helps in the overall vision of The Spirit Church and partners with his wife, Minister LaJuan Williams, to provide biblical-based Marriage Guidance to Spirit Church members.
Minister Maxine Nunn, as Executive Director of Connections at The Spirit Church, oversees key areas including connection ministries, guest services, outreach, communications, events, and spirit team development. She ensures alignment with Pastor Aeneas’ vision and plays a crucial role in daily operations and community engagement.
Minister Kenny Nunn serves as the Executive Director of Creative Arts at The Spirit Church, guiding the Creative Arts department in crafting compelling worship encounters for the congregation. His responsibilities include overseeing worship production teams and managing media. Minister Nunn holds a crucial role in guiding the overall direction of The Spirit Church, ensuring it aligns with Pastor Aeneas’ ministry vision.
